How to Make a Box for your Rat!!!
You'll Need:
Scissors
Sticky Tape
Cardboard Box (6-8cm Height depending on how big your rat is, 33cm length, and
16.5cm width, will be ideal)
Insert bedding into the box, so it is full, but not too much because otherwise it will be hard for your rat to push the bedding around to make tunnels. Close the box, and sticky tape all the flaps and edges so you can't open the box.
Get the scissors, and stab the top where you want the entrance hole(s) to be, and from that cut a circle a size so your rat can fit through easily. Now you Have a box.
You can Customize it by taping bits of paper onto the box saying stuff, (my one says Raysham's house/burrow (home sweet home) sniff sniff Squeek!!)
Or you can go even further by doing these things for example:
cutting the bottom of a pringles tube out and taping that to the entrance, and that makes a little pipe they have to go through to get in. (if you use a loo roll it makes a shorter pipe, but you need small rats for this!)
If you get a large
plastic sweet tub, cut a hole in it (as big as the entrance) on the side, and
tape it upside down (without the lid) on the entrance whole, it makes a little
conservatory for them!! Being inside their house, but they can see what's
going on!
Note: you can get rid of the stickers on the bottom of the tub by soaking it in
boiling water. then carefully peeling it off, and it will be sticker free!
Finally, after
that hard work, Your rats can Play in this fun little nest/playhouse!
