My Eco Piccolo R/C Helicopter
|
|
For my ninth birthday, my mum and dad bought me
a Radio Control R/C heli! the good thing is that if I had a petrol heli, if I
crashed it and someone got in the way of the blades, they would chop someone's
arm off, literally!, where as since the blades on this helicopter are plastic,
they would only make small cuts, even though that when it is airborne, the
blades pick up 2000rpm+!!
There is a new toy about, that is a really tiny r/c heli that you can fly
instantly. this is not the same as mine. It requires an enormous amount of skill
to fly these things. people say that indoor helis (what I've got) are actually
much more harder to fly than big petrol ones. why is it called an indoor
heli? because, when you get good, you can fly it through doorways and around the
house!
The place we bought it from, really were desperately trying to tell us how it
isn't just a 'pick up and go' sort of thing, and that it requires hours of
practice before you can even get near to mastering it. when my parents explained
it was for a 9 year old, they must of thought we're nuts, as it says in red
writing on the box 'This is not a toy, not for anyone under the age of 14'! My
mum were positive I had the skill to fly it, as usually most things that I do, I
can do, and never give up. so, they handed over £500, and hoped that I had the
skill to fly it. On my birthday, by the end of the day I had
managed to just about hover it!
